Worth The Splurge Ep 2: Miu Miu And Maison Margiela
PC: Pinterest
I have a bad tendency of starting new “series”, only to write one episode and never touching it again. Well, here I am making my second ever “Worth The Splurge” article since, well, a year. Please don’t blame me, ya girl has been busy, and quite honestly worthy splurgy items don’t come around too often! It takes time for me to curate a list of designer finds I can proudly state as worth the splurge. These investment pieces need to last a lifetime, surpass trends, and hold up in quality. I need to have marinated over them for some time and not just spontaneously taken a liking to them. In order for me to claim that something checks off all those boxes, I would have had to have my hands on them and not rely on pictures or reviews on the internet. And while that’s not the case with every single item on today’s list, at least half of them have been vetted IRL by yours truly.
Two key bags have been sitting on my mind, and those are the Balenciaga Rodeo bag and the Miu Miu Large Aventure Bag. If I had to make my pick, those would be the first two splurgy items I’d invest my money in. If we’re talking about shoes, I think it’s high time we invested in some Maison Margiela loafers, if you haven’t already. Sure, their boots might be a more of an obvious choice, but I’m personally not too big a fan of round block heels. I’ve included a couple of other ready-to-wear items and even some standout jewelry. Whatever pulls at your heartstrings, I guarantee that the following investment pieces are well worth the splurge.
I go to sleep thinking about this bag, I dream of this bag, and I lie awake thinking about what it takes to make her mine.
Here’s a bag that will look chic no matter the decade. And while I previously haven’t loved the bag designs from Balenciaga, this one’s a clear exception.
Normally I wouldn’t include a pair of jeans in a Worth The Splurge roundup, but if you’ve ever tried denim from Frame you’d understand how significantly superior they are.
Maison Margiela’s signature toe cutout feels extra unique on a pair of loafers.
I’ve been obsessed with this more fitted leather jacket look. It will always look buttoned up and sophisticated.
I’ve mentioned the importance of cuffs recently, and I can’t seem to get my mind off of this Tiffany Split Cuff.
The Row Margaux is uber-popular right now, and while I normally steer clear from trend pieces such as this, I’m convinced it’s going to be the new Birkin and therefore, is worth the splurge.
A little black dress from Prada? Yes please. This stunner will never not turn heads.
I’ve been debating which Miu Miu sneaker is the most splurge-worthy, and while I absolutely adore the viral New Balance sneaker, this option felt more evergreen.
Get yourself a Toteme coat. A trench is a fine option to go with, as it pairs well with everything and will always be a wardrobe staple.
I’ve seen this sweater on a friend and trust me when I say, it is exceptional. Not just in the cut, but in the impossibly soft cashmere fabric.
I know baby blue is trending right now, but I honestly think you’ll get so much wear out of this classy polo.
I’ve seen a version of this Coperni boot at the Frankie Shop store in Soho and am always tempted to purchase it.
Wow. Stunning. Gorgeous. Timeless. I could go on. This suede bomber is what outerwear dreams are made of.
