The Row’s Margaux May Be Sold Out, But These Are The Best Alternatives to Consider

There’s a new Birkin in town, and her name is Margaux. The Row just might be the first brand to create a bag that could de-throne (nay, let’s call it succeed) the Hermes Birkin bag. This heirloom in the making took the fashion scene by storm, landing on every it-girl’s shoulder, including Jennifer Lawrence and Kendall Jenner. Of course, Instagram girlies were quick to jump on the trend (actually they helped turn it into a trend) as well, with OG influencers like Xenia Adonts and Negin Mirsalehi owning multiple versions of the bag.

It’s no surprise, therefore, that the bag is practically sold out everywhere at this point, so those wondering where to buy The Row’s Margaux might be out of luck. Although a few hues and sizes remain on the Olsen-owned brand’s website, all the popular colors and textures are sold out at this point. Even retailers like My Theresa and Farfetch struggle to keep the bag in stock. I’m making a not-so-wild assumption, therefore, that when it does make its return, the price is going to rack up quite significantly (even more than its current $6,000 mark). That’s at least how the Chanel and Hermès bags inched their way into the five digit range.

So what exactly made this seemingly simple bag strike such a chord amongst fashion-fanatics? According to a recent Vogue article, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olson, founders of The Row, wanted to challenge the industry and “see whether, if something was made beautifully, in great fabric, with good fit, it would sell without a logo or a name on it,” and that it sure did. If you’re so lucky to be able to get your hands on the Margaux bag, then I recommend you do so. Who knows, in twenty years it might be worth $35,000, or however much the Birkin currently retails for. But if you can’t wait, don’t have the financial means, or simply want something that gives off a similar vibe, then I recommend checking out the following The Row Margaux alternatives.
