There’s truly no better time to escape to the tropics than in January. After all the holiday festivities are over, you get to go on a well-deserved vacation, roasting under the sun with a very good book in hand. Every year around this time, I make it a point to leave gloomy NYC and inject my skin with a boost of sunshine. Lucky for me, my parents moved to Hawaii a few years ago, making this annual escape-the-cold venture a much easier task. It’s also allowed me to learn a thing or two about proper vacation packing. As I gear up to fly out in a week, I’m already mentally creating a checklist of all the things I need to bring. And then I realized — why do it mentally when I could write it down and share it here, with you? I’m sure there’s a number of you escaping the cold right about now as well, so we may as well pack virtually together, and help each other to not forget all the vacation essentials. This may just be me, but I always make a point to go play tennis or do something active while on vacation. But even if you’re not doing the same, a white tennis skirt serves as a great cover up for bikini bottoms!
