Ladies, gentlemen, it’s already February ya’ll. If you didn’t heed my advice in taking a vacation in February (or January for that matter), it’s time to start planning for a nice lil’ break in your schedule. You are not going to be one of those people who let time pass you by and before you know it, you’re three quarters into the year and haven’t traveled at all. Please, it’s not only a burden on your mental health to not rest but a burden to those around you (I know it sounds harsh, but seriously). Getting out, resting, exploring, experiencing new cultures, feeding your soul something new makes you happier and in return, everyone around receiving your happy energy get uplifted too.

If you don’t know where to travel to in 2024, I’ve got some inspiration for you. I’ve got the hottest destinations of 2024 sorted out below in order of Spring to Winter. I’ve already got my destinations planned out and partially booked – it’s fruitful for the soul to have some fun secured in the future, giving us something to work towards. I invite you to scroll through the following best destinations of 2024 and get to planning as well!

Spring

Tokyo, Japan

Japan is famous for its cherry blossom season in the spring (best times to go are XXX). Temperatures begin to rise a little earlier on the island than here in the States, so if you’re traveling from the east coast you’ll get to skip two or three weeks of winter and get a head start on Spring.

Paris, France

I’ve been to Paris twice during the Spring time so far and discovered it’s truy the best time to visit the city of love. Similar to Japan, spring and summer arrive earlier compared to where I reside (New York), so getting to leave a barren city and landing somewhere where the trees are already in full bloom is a sight for sore eyes. Not to mention, Paris plants an incredible amount of flowers around the city all of which come alive during this time, creating an incredible colorful display for everyone to enjoy.

Netherlands

Have you ever seen those breathtaking photos of tulip fields in the Netherlands? They’re predicted to begin March 21st this year, so get your nature-deprived self across the pond and breathe in this magnificant floral phenomenon.

Summer

Vienna, Austria

I have to put Vienna here, because quite honestly this moody city has one good season and one good season only: summer. The city is notorious for its gray weather, so if it’s your first time visiting and want to experience it in its full glory, you’ll want to go in the small window of July and August.

Rome, Italy

Remember how everyone and their grandmas were in Italy last year? You can predict that it’s going to be about the same this year. The only difference is this time you’re going too!! It’ll be YOU posting your toes on the beaches of the Amalfi coast or eating gelatos in Venice. I recommend getting a good dose of culture and food in the capital city of Rome.

Oslo, Norway

Oslo is another one of those cities that’s best enjoyed in the summer (unless you’re a hard-core winter gal). Be among the locals soaking in as much of the summer light as they can, or go visit the incredible nature around the city. It will certainly be a life-changing experience.

Fall

Madrid, Spain

I’m someone who tries to stretch the summer out as long as possible. Madrid remains hot for an extra two to four weeks so visiting this culturally-rich city is best reserved for September or October. It won’t be as umbearably hot as it would be in July, so you actually get to enjoy the city without a big sweat stain on your back.

Lisbon, Portugal

I always love visiting Lisbon in September. Similarly to Madrid, the summer stretches out an extra few weeks here and you get to watch the leaves brown without the impending chill that usually follows. Not to mention, the sunsets are absolutely spectacular during this season.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

I hear October and November are the best times to visit Brazil as the many tourists have returned home at this time but the year-round-summer destination remains hot enough for a beach visit. You get to enjoy the sights with a little more peace and quiet – not to mention the flight tickets are cheaper during this time!

Winter

Sydney, Australia

As winter descends into the rest of the world, the land down under enters its spring season. It’s the perfect time to visit Sydney, Australia come December or January if you’re trying to escape the cold. The city is well known for its beach access and coffee culture, so if already wanted to visit this unique country, now is the time to do it.

St. Moritz, Switzerland

St. Moritz might not be the cheapest city, but it surely is the prettiest one in the winter. If you want a storybrook winter experience (think ski, apres-ski, snow-kissed everything), then there’s no better place than Switzerland.

Sri Lanka

Another great place to escape the winter in is Sri Lanka. Incredible wildlife and nature scenes are to be found here and they’re surely to leave a lasting impression. Indulge in the rich culture and learn about Sri Lanka’s history as you explore.
