Can We Talk About BANANA REPUBLIC’S COMEBACK

I have to say, I’ve always liked Banana Republic. I’ve always liked them and yet, I rarely ever bought anything from them. It’s because while holistically their style and branding appealed to me, when I looked at their pieces on an individual level, nothing ever screamed buy me. Until now.
Lately it’s been hard to walk past the BR stores. I see their display mannequins and want to wear what they’re wearing. They’ve gone a step above elevated basics and started incorporating eye-catching details to every little item — and it’s exactly this detail that’s taken them from bland office girl to chic boss. With their collaboration with Peter Do in their 2023 Spring/Summer collection, it’s clear they’ve been working on revamping themselves and gearing up for a great comeback.
And it’s not just Banana Republic undergoing a viral transformation. We observed how Olympia Gayot brought J.Crew back on the cool girl’s map, and we all saw Tommy Hilfiger kill it on this 2024 Fall/Winter runway show. It’s like all our favorite early 2000’s brands are ditching their dusty outdated layers and BUTTERFLYING the f up. I’m, of course, completely here for it and wanted to share some of my favorite Banana Republic pieces with you. May you see for yourself that they are 100% worth a second chance.
