The world is opening, closing, and opening again, being a real tease to us peeps thirstin’ for a getaway. With new variants of Covid popping up left and right, who knows when things will truly return to normal. Ah, the days when we could all book a spontaneous ticket to the other end of the world and our only concerns were: What are we going to wear? Sigh… But alas, borders for most countries are loosening up and I invite you to do heavy research on restrictions before booking any tickets. While travel may not be as seamless as it once was, we can still plan for the future and line up our upcoming trips. I’m certain your bucketlist has stacked up a hefty list of destinations over the last two years, but I’m here to add a few more onto your radar! Santorini, Greece
Notoriously known as a destination for lovers, this Greek island’s vast ocean views and blue rooftops are sure to make your heart flutter! Not to mention the bright flowers, the delicious foods, and the perpetual sunshine all invite you to shed every ounce of stress and relax into your partner’s arms.
Bali, Indonesia
As someone who has been to Bali twice with a lover, I can attest to the fact that this is one of the most romantic islands to visit. Hugging your person as you scooter through rice fields, indulging in feast after feast, dipping in the pristine waters, and simply taking in the impressive sights of Bali is simply awe-inspiring. I can absolutely never get enough of this land and its people.
Paris, France
The city of love naturally had to hold a spot on this listicle! Paris is truly a city dipped in romance. The air, the croissants, the café’s all seem to trigger that warm, glowy feeling inside your belly. Stroll around the cobble streets and treat yourself to rooftop dinners with your S.O.
Hvar, Croatia
Truthfully, there are TONS of islands in Croatia that deserve a spot on this article, but I’m going to go with Hvar for the moment. Out of all the places I’ve visited so far, Croatia by far has the most crystal clear blue waters. On top of that, there are plenty of secret hidden beaches you can hike to and feel like you own an entire ocean to yourself. Perfect for a little skinny dipping opportunity, if I do say so myself ;)
Aix-En-Provence, France
The South of France boasts some of the most beautiful, culturally rich scenery in all of Europe (imo). On top of that they’ve got some insane, breathtaking nature casually sprinkled across the land, like the gorges du verdon or the infamous lavender fields. Touring around this part of France truly makes you feel like you’ve been enchanted and plopped into a romance film.
San Jose, Costa Rica
It is with great sadness that I have to admit that I have never been to Costa Rica before, but boy is it high up on my list. Lush with greenery and wild animals, this is one of the most naturally beautiful countries in the world. You can bet the rainforests and the blue oceans make for a great romantic backdrop.
