Now That The Holidays Are Over… Best Cities FOR ESCAPING THE WINTER

We did it ya’ll! We stuffed ourselves full for Thanksgiving, we shopped till we dropped for Christmas, and we lifted our bubblies up to the ceiling as we welcomed 2024. I love living in NYC during these times. I totally understand why people flock from all over the world to see NYC in all its holiday glory. But, now that it’s all over, can we be excused to a warm, warm island? Me thinks yes.
I don’t know about you, but the winter completely disagrees with me. I’ve had a cough since October. I haven’t been able to breathe through my nose since November. Whenever I’m in a room full of people and I see them taking their jackets off, I secretly wish they’d give me their coats so I can double up on outerwear and finally feel warm again. And I know it’s not going to get any better until maybe April.
Now that the holidays are over, I can skid off to some island without feeling like I’m missing out. I did the winter thing, I’m good now. I already have my ticket to Hawaii booked for end of January, but for anyone lacking inspiration and searching for a place to warm their toes, see the below list of places to visit to escape the winter.
Honolulu, Hawaii
I’ll be in Hawaii, so it only makes sense to include it here first. Hawaii has many beautiful islands to offer, like Kauai, Maui, and Big Island. Oahu, however, has the most to see.
St. Barts
Going to the Caribbean feels like a no brainer. St. Barts boasts some of the most beautiful waters, white sand beaches, and a thrilling culture.
St. Lucia
St. Lucia is high up on my bucket list. It’s one of the most picturesque Caribbean islands having both mountains and beaches.
Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
If you want a bustling city, exciting night life, and to-die for beaches, you want to go to Punta Cana.
Puerto Rico
Although occasionally rainy, Puerto Rico is a fantastic spot to learn how to surf, visit some incredible rain forests, and learn a thing or two about the islands history.
Jamaica
What does Jamaica NOT have? Immerse yourself in the wildlife, jaw-dropping nature, and delicious foods as you make your way through the incredible island.
