Cities to Visit When You’re LACKING INSPIRATION

If you know me, you know I’m no stranger to frequent traveling. I itch to get out, see new sights, breathe in foreign air, and fill my soul with new sensations. What I’m really seeking, when it comes down to it, is a fresh sense of inspiration and thrill for life. I’m an inspiration-junkie, in simple terms. When life feels dull, routine, or boring, a ticket to somewhere new is what jumpstarts my gusto for all things life. And while yes, I see the problematic behavior as I write it — I’m still practicing how to feel settled and happy with the simple joys of everyday life, but as of right now I have a tick to feed my brain fresh sights every three months (I did call myself a junkie, didn’t I?). Until I reach that peaceful state of mind where everything is bliss no matter where I am, I’m going to be booking it to all corners of the world searching for inspiration.

But not all cities offer the same kind of jaw-dropping excitement as others. Although simply leaving your daily routines can bring new thoughts and ideas to your brain, I think some cities are better for calming down (ahem Copenhagen) than for inspiration seeking (hello Barcelona). So to find out which cities you should book it to when you’re in need of a little refresher on life, see below for the best cities to visit.

Berlin, Germany

Berlin is well known as a hub for artists. It’s one of Europe’s most creative cities, as musicians, photographers, and people of all kinds of backgrounds gather here to paint the town. If you don’t know where to start on your journey for inspiration, this is a safe bet.

Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona is simply BEAMING with life, culture, and art. You’ve got everything from gothic museums to beautiful architecture to jaw-dropping sunsets and vibrant nightlife. Let’s not forget the infectiously exciting spirit of its locals, either.

New York City, NY

We of course have to give it to NYC for being one of the most exciting cities. There’s nothing you can’t do here, truly, and there’s never a shortage of bars, exhibitions, and parks to visit.

Mexico City, Mexico

Every time I see pictures of Mexico City, my jaw drops. It seems like there’s a never ending supply of colors, foods, thrilling people, and nature. What more would you need?

Cappadocia, Turkey

I just want to see this sight once. One time is all I ask, and I’m sure I’ll have enough inspiration to last me a lifetime.

Marrakech, Morocco

A city filled with scents, bright colors, and culture? Yes please. Your senses will be going on overdrive trying to take in al that is Marrakech.
