I must confess.

I have an excessive amount of notebooks. Maybe it comes with being a writer, but I simply would burst if I didn’t have these papers to put my thoughts down onto. And while I admit, it’s probably not necessary that I have a notebook for work, for my thoughts, for my big goals, for my little goals, for organizing my days, for my groceries, for my recipes, and then a mini on-the-go version, but I do see a huge benefit in having at least three main notebooks.

The Monthly Planner

To be fair, one of those main “notebook” is a planner. One with a monthly calendar view where you can jot in important dates. This is quite an obvious one. It helps you stay organized with deadlines, brunches, and events. It also helps you visually see how many days before an event can happen that you have to complete xyz. Coming from somehow who used to always double book herself, this planner is quite a lifesaver.

The Everyday Notebook

The second important notebook to own should be considered as your right hand notebook. A classic 6" x 8.5" sized notebook that you can always turn to. In my particular one, I jot down all my feelings, my thoughts, any minor occurrence that’s left stuck in my heart. I also use this notebook to jot down my daily to-do’s, including the ones for work. I don’t separate my personal thoughts and tasks from my work ones. This just makes this notebook an easy one to grab at any time and place for everyday things.

The Big Dreams Notebook

Lastly, I recommend you get one large notebook for “big things”. By that I mean your big goals, any big structural changes you want to implement, your manifestation rituals etc. If you’re feeling a huge emotional change that requires a lot of release, then that goes into this notebook as well. The one I have is large in size, which is quite alright considering it should never really leave your house. Writing your big plans in a physically large book places a little more importance and seriousness in those thoughts, and trust me when I say your mind takes note of it. Physically separating your everyday thoughts from your important life updates literally compartmentalizes these things into two different places, and your mind places a different level of importance on them.
