Everything You Should Do Before THE END OF SUMMER

Summer always goes by far too fast. It’s like we just pulled out the bikinis from our closets and already we’re getting hit with newsletters on fall fashion and Autumnal activities (I even saw someone recently watching a Halloween movie). As a die-hard summer enthusiast, I’ve always done the most to elongate my summers, even flying off to warmer cities in September just to have an extra month of heat. Only when I feel like I’ve done everything in my power to squeeze out days of Aperol spritz, flirty skirts, and sun-kissed skin, do I feel ready to welcome fall.

It’s going to be a long few months before we can prance around in our bikinis again, ladies. We’ll have to endure dark nights, bare trees, and staying indoors for more than six months again, and I know you’re feeling anxiety just thinking about the seasonal depression that’s about to drop on you like a snowstorm. So, in order to get to a mental place where we can happily close out summer, I’ve created a little check to get through before the season changes. So without further ado, here are all the things to do before the end of summer.

1. Go to the beach one more time

This goes without saying, but summer = beach. Bring that bikini out for one more run into the ocean. You might need a sweater for the way back home, but at least you’ll get to smell and feel the sea-breeze one last time.

2. Picnic at the park

I can’t stress enough how important it is to soak in as much vitamin D before we get locked up in our rooms for the winter. Grab your friends, a picnic blanket, and bottle of rosé and toast the day away.

3. Go hiking

This one is for me - I did not do nearly as much hiking this season as I would have liked to. Making a mental note to get out and immerse myself in the trees before they become bare and dead-looking again :(

4. Visit a nearby town

You know what you won’t want to do in the winter? Walk around outside to sight-see. Little trips to neighboring towns are only fun in the summer, so go ahead and get a fresh taste of adventure and inspiration in a new city.

5. Go wine tasting

There’s nothing like visiting a vineyard and sipping on cold white wine after. It simply screams summer!

6. Book a last minute trip with your best friend.

It’s not too late to book a weekend getaway to somewhere tropical! If you really feel like you skimped out on summer this year, grab your bestie and take a last minute trip to Cancun, or Aruba, or Italy!

7. Throw a rooftop party

Or go to a rooftop party, if you don’t have one yourself. Grab a few of your favorite friends and dance under the open sky as you sip on an Aperol Spritz and watch the sun set.
