3 Steps to Hiding Your HANGOVER AT A WORKPLACE

PC: Unknown

So you and your girls went out on a Thursday night. Why is it that we consider Thursdays to be an optimal time to go get a few drinks? Ever since college, it’s this swanky little Thursday that’s been the designated go-out today. Seriously, what’s wrong with Friday? or Saturday? Have we all forgotten that we have responsibilities to show up for on a Friday morning? Now that many of us are back in offices, we can’t as easily turn our cameras off and hide our dark under eyes or lack of enthusiasm. So instead you find yourself curing a deadly throb in your temples at your office desk, avoiding all eye contact from nosy co-workers. We’ve all been there. And honestly, I think it should be more acceptable to show up hungover in an office, but that’s a conversation for another day. Today we are going to discuss how to appear more *awake and not obviously I-downed-five-shots-of-tequilla-last-night at the office that don’t involve wearing shades indoors.

  1. Wear One of Your Best Outfits

I know, I know. Your body cringes at the thought of wearing tight pants during a hungover. And spending even a minute on deciding on a cute outfit? Forget it. We are not asking you to give up comfort or time, however. This should be a repeat outfit that made you feel both confident and comfortable in the past. Looking put together is going to drastically change how coworkers “see” your hangover. It might downright make it impossible to detect!

2. Advil, Eye Drops, and Water are Your Friend

I’m gonna give it to you straight here. There’s really nothing more effective than some good ol’ Advil, eye drops, and water. If you were hoping for a magical tea to cure all your alcohol induced problems, then I’m sorry to disappoint you. But, if you were looking for science driven medicine to get you up again, then look no further than to these three essentials.

3. Quite Literally, Hide

Is there a meeting room you can hide into? Tell your coworkers you have some projects you need to catch up on and need to stay focused. Then lock yourself in a small office room and work at your own leisurely pace. Hey! Maybe you can even get away with a power nap (not advising it, but, who would stop you?).
